Award Winning. Two Years In A Row. What It Means To Us.
Private Investigation Company Of The Year For Central England. Two Years In A Row. What It Means To Us.

Leading | Established | Award Winning
Some moments in business make you stop and take stock. For us, it was hearing our name read out at the Prestige Awards for the second year in a row, as Best Private Investigations Company in Central England.
Winning once was an honour. Winning twice tells us that the way we work, and the way we treat the people who come to us, is being recognised by others and not just by ourselves. In this post we want to explain what the award means to us, how we got here, and what it says about the standards we hold ourselves to.
Why this award means so much
Private investigation is an unusual industry, to say the least. Our best work is, by it’s nature, invisible. A surveillance operation succeeds when nobody knows it took place. A bug sweep succeeds when a client can finally speak freely in their own boardroom. A missing relative is traced, a fraud is evidenced, a worried parent gets an answer, and the world carries on as though nothing happened.
That means we rarely get to show off our best work. Client confidentiality is the foundation of everything we do, so we can’t publish case studies or share testimonials the way many businesses can. Independent recognition matters for that reason. An award can’t tell the story of any individual case, but it tells prospective clients something they can’t easily see for themselves: that the profession, and the wider business community in Central England, rates the quality, professionalism and integrity of what we do.
For anyone deciding whether to trust a private investigator with a sensitive, stressful or high-stakes matter, that reassurance counts for a lot.
Where it all began
Anderson & Co didn’t start as a polished organisation with a trophy cabinet. We started with hard graft.
My background was in security and close protection, a career built on discretion, awareness and doing the job properly when it matters most. Moving into covert surveillance and investigations was a natural progression, because many of the same disciplines apply: patience, observation, planning, and the ability to stay calm and unnoticed in demanding situations.
In the early years, building the business meant putting in hours most people would find hard to believe. Over 1,000 miles a week on the road. Working weeks that stretched to 100 hours plus. Early starts, late finishes, and a firm belief that if we did the work to an exceptional standard, the reputation would follow.
There were no shortcuts. Every client had to be earned, and every case had to be handled as though our whole reputation depended on it, because in those early days it did. We began by covering Birmingham and the surrounding area, and we learned the job properly: the streets, the patterns, the practicalities, and the human side of an industry where people are often at their most vulnerable.
From Birmingham to the world
What began as a local operation has grown steadily over the last seven years. Birmingham became the Midlands. The Midlands became nationwide coverage across the UK. Today we also work with clients overseas, including in Australia, India, the UAE and even Maldives – yep, we have even had a client from the Maldives, no joke.
That growth was never driven by a grand marketing plan. It came from doing good work and being worth recommending. Clients who were pleased with the outcome came back when they needed us again, or passed our details to someone they trusted. In a business built on trust, that kind of referral is the strongest endorsement there is.
It’s also why a regional award means so much. We’re proud of how far the business has travelled, but our roots are in Central England. Being recognised by the community where we started feels like a very fitting acknowledgement.
What the award recognises
We can’t speak for the judges, but we can tell you what we believe sits behind the result.
Discretion first. Every person who contacts us is dealing with something sensitive. It might be a suspicion about a partner, concerns about an employee, a business under threat from fraud or leaked information, or the search for someone who has lost contact with their family. We treat every enquiry with the privacy and respect it deserves, and we never forget there’s a real person behind every case.
Evidence that stands up. Surveillance is only valuable if the findings are accurate, properly documented and presented clearly. Whether our clients need peace of mind, support for an HR process or material to hand to a solicitor, our reporting is built to be reliable and professional.
Honest advice. Part of being trustworthy is telling people what we can and can’t do, what is realistic, and what might not be worth their money. Sometimes the right advice is a smaller, more focused piece of work than the client expected. Building long-term relationships matters more to us than any single invoice. I actually turn more work away than we take on, for this very reason.
Breadth of service. Our work covers background checks, matrimonial surveillance, corporate investigations, technical surveillance, bug sweeping, GPS tracking and people tracing. Many cases involve more than one of these, and having the experience to combine them sensibly gives clients a better outcome than a narrow, one-size-fits-all approach.
Legal and ethical standards. Private investigation operates within a clear legal framework, and respecting it is non-negotiable. Working properly protects our clients as well as us, because evidence gathered the wrong way can do more harm than good.
What winning twice tells us
Winning an award once can feel like a moment. Winning it again suggests consistency, and consistency is what we care about most.
Anyone can have a good year. Delivering the same standard of service, in the same careful and professional way, across different cases, different clients and different pressures, is much harder. Back-to-back recognition tells us the standards we set are consistent and being met day in, day out, and not only on the cases that go perfectly.
It also keeps us honest. A title like this isn’t something to rest on. It raises the bar for the year ahead, because the next person who calls us will expect the standard that earned the award.
The people who made it possible
No award is won alone. Behind every successful investigation is careful planning, long hours, good judgement and teamwork. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has worked with us over the years, and to the clients who placed their trust in us at difficult moments.
Many of those clients came to us worried, frustrated or unsure where to turn. Being trusted with that is a responsibility we take seriously. Hearing that we helped bring clarity, protect a business, or give someone the answers they needed is the real measure of success for us.
We’d also like to thank the Prestige Awards for the recognition, and the wider Central England business community that makes this such a good place to work.
What this means for our clients
For anyone considering hiring a private investigator, an award isn’t a guarantee of results, and we’d never promise one. What it does show is that an independent body has looked at what we do and rated it at the top of our region, twice.
In practical terms, we hope that means:
• Confidence that you’re dealing with an established, reputable company with more than ten years behind it.
• Reassurance that your case will be handled discreetly and professionally from first call to final report.
• Experience across personal, corporate and technical investigations, with nationwide and international reach.
• Honesty about what’s achievable, so you can make informed decisions.
If you’re facing a situation where you need answers, we’d be glad to talk it through in confidence, with no pressure and no obligation.
Looking ahead
We’re extremely proud of this achievement, but we’re not about to slow down. The industry keeps changing, with new technology, new types of fraud and new threats to privacy, and we intend to keep investing in our skills, our methods and our service so clients get the best possible support.
The long weeks and the miles on the road in the early days taught us that reputation is earned slowly and can be lost quickly. Every case from here on is another chance to prove the award was deserved.
To everyone who has supported us, recommended us or trusted us with their situation, thank you. We hope to earn that trust again and again.
